• Addiction: This refers to a condition in which the person may have disorders related to legal or illegal addiction. The person could be addicted to drugs, gambling, sex, food, games, or even other Impulse Control Disorders (ICD). ICD is basically a disorder in which the person finds it really difficult to resist a temptation or think twice before committing an act. These could include, internet addiction, compulsive shopping, the urge to start fires, shoplifting or Kleptomania and so on.
• Anxiety: The range of Anxiety could vary from person to person and include excessive fear, worry and similar behavioural disturbances. While some may experience Situational Anxiety triggered by common things such as examination, the first day at a new job and unexpected expenses, others may suffer from frequent and excessive anxiety, panic attacks, and terror and these could adversely affect the quality of life of the patient.
• Depression: It is a common and serious medical mental illness which deals with a major mood disorder in the affected person. The disorder causes persistent feelings of emptiness, irritability, sadness and loss of pleasure, interest or positivity in life. The person may also suffer from poor concentration, feelings of guilt, thoughts about death, death in general or suicide and more. 
• Bipolar Disorder: People with this disorder are at an increased risk of suicide. The symptoms include irritability, hyperactivity, talkativeness, increased self-esteem, sleep loss, impulsive and reckless behaviour and so on. 
• Schizophrenia: Those suffering from Schizophrenia seem to be away from reality and in their own world which could be distressing for them as well as their family. This is so because this serious mental disorder makes the person interpret reality abnormally or as we can say react (sometimes violently) to their hallucinations and delusions. These patients may sometimes also have trouble organizing their thoughts and speech and may hop from one topic to another. Sometimes they may also coin words that may have no meaning and may sometimes have movement disorders in which they may exhibit abnormal body movements and even repeat certain motions again and again.
• Neuro-Developmental Disorder: These include disorders of intellectual development such as Autism spectrum, Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and are best handled by Neuropsychiatrist at the hospital. These disorders have limited intellectual functioning and adaptive behaviour and have a direct negative impact on the patient’s academic, occupational or social functioning. These disorders affect the conceptual, social and practical skills of the person. 
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): This is witnessed in people who have experienced shock, scary or dangerous events. Those suffering from it may get easily upset or angry, show signs of extreme alertness, disturbed sleep patterns and so on. And this is where the mental health expert helps people overcome post-traumatic stress disorders.
