Types Of Imaging Techniques

Computer Tomography (CT)
Breast Imaging (Mammography)

  • Virtual Colonoscopy: Unlike looking for any ‘medical imaging near me’ or ’xray clinic near me’, virtual colonoscopy is a less invasive, special X-Ray examination of the colon using low-dose Computed Tomography (CT). The procedure helps the radiographer get a closer and clearer look for polyps or abnormalities within the colon which could sometimes also be cancerous.
  • Positron Emission Tomography (PET): This radioactivity-based non-invasive technique allows the expert to measure the physiological function of the person by looking at the blood flow and oxygen consumption to different body parts, metabolism, neurotransmitters and radiolabelled drugs.
  • Interventional Radiology: This technique helps radiographers, doctors and interventional radiologists to detect and devise a plan of treatment for ailments in almost any part of the body. This is done with the help of a flexible tube with a camera at the end to look within the body using the keyhole technique or a very tiny incision. This procedure is performed during angiography, embolization to control bleeding, tumour ablation, vertebroplasty, needle biopsies of lungs and thyroid glands etc.
  • Cardiac Imaging: Also called cardiovascular imaging, it includes taking pictures or images of the heart and its surrounding structures. This diagnostic imaginghelps the cardiologist to diagnose and manage heart conditions. Cardiac imaging methods could include aMultigatedAcquisition (MUGA) scan, Coronary angiogram, Nuclear Cardiac Stress Test, Echocardiogram and so on.
  • Intussusception Radiology: Thisimaging technique is used to get pictures of the cause of an acute abdomen in children and its merits. The technique is used to diagnose conditions occurring in any part of the body.
  • Digital Radiography: There are two types of digital imaging systems – Computed Radiography (CR) and Direct Radiography (DR). itis an advanced X-Ray inspectionthat produces a digital radiographic image using sensitive X-Ray plates to capture data during the examination and for the benefit of the radiographer.
  • Orthopantomagram X-Ray (OPG X-Ray):The machine provides a panoramic view of the upper and lower jaw. It displays a flattened two-dimensional view of the teeth and is helpful in detecting oral infections and abscesses, gum diseases, jaw-line or oral fractures, dislocated jaws, hidden decay and cavities, impacted teeth, wisdom teeth development and more.
  • Ultrasound: Also known as sonography, the imaging technique involves using high-frequency sound waves to capture real-time images of organs within the body. The technique allows the expert to see the movements of the internal organs, monitor the growth and development of the fetus, and even blood flow through the blood vessels.

The imaging services Bhopal tests could include X-Rays, Ultrasound, Bone Mineral Density, fluoroscopy, mammography, CT, MRI and more. So, stay with us for more on radiology facilities and techniques available at the Apollo Sage Hospitals in Bhopal
