TREATMENT AND SERVICES
treatment and services
- Endotracheal Intubation: The procedure requires placing a tube in the trachea (windpipe) through the mouth or nose of the patient by critical care experts. It is primarily done to keep the airway open to give oxygen, medicine or anesthesia and support breathing in certain illnesses such as pneumonia, emphysema, heart failure, collapsed lung severe trauma, and more.
- Central Venous Catheterization (CVC): This is a long, flexible tube that is inserted into the neck vein, chest, arm, or groin to reach the large vein that empties into the heart. It is used to provide drugs, fluids or even draw blood in case of emergency or long-term treatment.
- Arterial Cannulation: This invasive procedure is performed by experts in the critical care units to accurately measure blood pressure, arterial pressure, and accessible blood sampling. The precise measurement helps the medical expert to provide quicker intervention and stabilize the patient.
- Chest Tube Thoracostomy: The procedure is done by Intensivists at the Intensive Critical Care unit to restore and re-expand the lungs of the patient. Flexible tubes are inserted through the chest wall between the ribs and slid into the pleural space. The procedure removes air, blood, fluid, and chyle from the intrathoracic space.
